"Black Myth" is inspiring 3A! Foreign media say Chinese games will dominate the next ten years

Aug 30 2025

Recently, foreign media PCGamer published an article titled "China's computer game industry is about to dominate the next decade." In the article, the PCGamer editor reviewed his experience of offline trials in Beijing's "Shadow Blade Zero" and pointed out that the Chinese game industry is at a critical moment of rapid rise.

The editor of PCGamer said that in 2019, the Chinese PC game market was initially specific, but most popular games, such as "League of Legends" and "PUBG" are still imported games, while the number of popular games independently developed by China is relatively small and difficult to enter the international market. However, a major shift occurred in 2020.

The release of "Black Myth: Wukong" breaks the outside world's view on the lack of representative works of Chinese PC games, proving that Chinese developers can create masterpieces at the same level as international 3A games. The global release of the game in 2024 has attracted widespread attention, marking the entry of China's 3A games into an international perspective and are regarded as a watershed in China's game industry.

The editor pointed out that what we are witnessing now is a wave of games inspired by "Black Myth". Chinese developers have begun to invest their profits in mobile games into the development of 3A games. Large publishers such as Tencent and NetEase support the birth of these masterpieces with strong funds.

After "Black Myth: Wukong", "Shadow Blade Zero" is considered to be another domestic masterpiece that has left a deep impression on the world. Industry insiders predict that by 2030, more excellent 3A games will emerge in China. They will not only occupy the domestic market, but also occupy an important place in the global game culture.
