Switch2 confirms support for DLSS and ray tracing! The picture quality has been greatly improved
Recently, at the Nintendo Technology Roundtable held in New York, Nintendo confirmed that the Switch 2 will be equipped with Nvidia's DLSS technology and hardware-level ray tracing. The specific operating plan and performance have not been announced yet.
Tao Hong Doda, senior director of Nintendo's software development department, said: "We use DLSS super sampling technology, which is an indispensable tool in game development. The console mode supports up to 4K TV output, and developers can choose native rendering or super sampling solutions, which provides more flexibility for third-party developers."
Tetsu Sasaki, general manager of the technology development department, also added: "Nintendo focuses more on creating value for consumers rather than disclosing hardware specification details. Partner Nvidia will provide more relevant information in the future."
In addition, the trial review of foreign media Engadget mentioned that Switch2 also supports variable refresh rate (VRR). Players can expect the console's more amazing screen performance.
