"Battlefield 6" developer: Destroying everything may ruin the fun of the game
Although "Battlefield 6" has created a relatively excellent destruction system, its destruction effect is slightly insufficient in terms of thoroughness and comprehensiveness compared to the previous games in the series. For example, the "Levolution" mechanism that appeared in the 4th generation allows players to completely destroy the entire building.
In response to this issue, Christian Grass, general manager of Ripple Effect, explained in the latest issue (Issue 415) EDGE magazine. He said the developers decided to adopt the "tactical destruction" mode in Battlefield 6 because wanton destruction during the game may destroy the fun of the game.
"We are keen on the visual impact of this destruction - it looks shocking, sounds quite exciting, and it's really cool. But we expect it to serve the game itself. If you can destroy everything, once there is nothing left in the scene, the game will become boring. In "Rebel Company 2", it's more like 'What if you can destroy all these independent buildings and make them nothing?'"
"Battlefield 6" uses what we now call the "Apple Core" system to ensure that there is always cover in the game space and that combat is always fun. We hope that players can use destroying items to encircle enemies and destroy buildings to destroy enemies. We let tanks rush into buildings, so that you suddenly encounter threats in places you originally thought you were safe."
"Battlefield 6" will be officially released on October 10, and will be available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series S platforms. platform.
