"Battlefield 6" game rhythm/map design has caused controversy: attracting COD players?
As the public test of "Battlefield 6" ended, some design adjustments in the game have aroused discussion among the player group. Although most players believe that this game has successfully brought the series back on track, some people still questioned the game rhythm and map design, and pointed out that the development team seems to be moving closer to the "Call of Duty" player group.
A player on Reddit posted a bluntly saying: "This beta version was obviously not designed to attract old players in Battlefield, nor did it make the core fans excited. Its core goal is to absorb as many COD players as possible." The player specifically mentioned that the map size in the beta version was significantly reduced compared to the previous work in the series.
However, some players believe that the root cause of the problem is not the physical size, but the map design logic. A player left a message saying: "Putting aside the actual area of the map, the key is that they give people a 'cruel' feeling, which makes me very out of the way." Another player compared it and pointed out that the map design of "Battlefield 1" truly has the sense of space that the battlefield should have.
Industry analysis believes that "Battlefield 6" focuses on the settings of modern warfare and urban street fighting, which may objectively lead to a more compact viewing of the map. But considering that it is only the testing stage and the full version of the game has not yet shown all the map content, it is still too early to make a conclusion on the final quality.
