"The Deserted Light: The Hidden Beast" returns to the original narrative style: There is only 1 ending

Recently, Tymon Smektala, the director of the series "Disappearance" Tymon Smektala, revealed in an interview with GamesRadar+ that "Disappearance: A Hidden Beast" will no longer continue the branch plot choices in "Disappearance 2", because the developer Techland hopes to re-establish a unified "official orthodox" plot direction for the new work and lay the foundation for the future development of the series.

Smektala explained that Techland decided to partially return to the narrative style of "The Deserting Light 1". The development team reviews Kyle Crane’s experience in the first generation and plans to tell the next chapter of his story. To make this new work a classic in the series, Techland wants to ensure that the game's ending puts Kyle in a specific plot point to maintain consistency in the story of the entire player. "We want to truly leave our narrative imprint and pave the way for the future of the series."

So, players will no longer experience the major plot choices in "Distressed Light: A Hidden Beast". Smektala further added: "One of the core goal of "The Deserted Light: The Hidden Beast" is to hint players at the future direction of the series. To achieve this, we must direct Kyle to a plot key point we set." He also said that making this decision was not an easy move, and Techland still wants to maintain a "community-driven design philosophy." However, he also pointed out that many games often ignore these choices in the sequel after encouraging players to make choices in order to promote a unified plot line.

Smektala also frankly stated that Techland did "go in the wrong direction" in some aspects of "The Deserted Light 2", and this adjustment was to make up for the previous shortcomings. In any case, Techland has shown a firmer stance in the narrative direction of this new work.
