The Shumao Club said that the PC version of "The Strange Hunter" is like a disaster: 5080 is barely 60 frames!
Recently, the Shumao Club released the first round of performance tests for the PC version of "Monster Hunter Wilds", pointing out that there are many key issues in the game's picture quality and performance. Come and watch it together.
Shumao Club stated that although the game screen settings provide a variety of options, the actual effect is far lower than the level displayed in the promotional video. In particular, the problems of low-quality maps and texture comprehension are particularly prominent, which affects the visual experience. When turning the lens quickly, the frame time fluctuates greatly in the low-end GPU, resulting in significant lag. However, when the lens is still or moves slowly, the frame time is relatively stable.
Even a powerful GPU has not completely gotten rid of this problem. Although the problem has a small impact, it still exists. However, performance issues remain obvious at lower texture quality settings, which suggests that the problem may stem from data transmission and texture comprehension pressure strategies. Games may frequently load and decompress unnecessary data, resulting in performance degradation.
According to wccftech, the newly released RTX 5080 graphics card still performs poorly at the highest 4K picture quality, and can only barely maintain 60FPS. This further shows that the optimization problem of the PC version of Monster Hunter: Wilderness cannot be ignored.
Shumao Society pointed out that just like the catastrophic first release cases such as "The Last of Us" PC version, "Monster Hunter: The Wilderness" PC version has serious disconnection between picture quality and performance. What is puzzling is that a desert scene with almost no details can perform so badly on various hardware.
Shumao Society concluded that low-end graphics cards should currently avoid playing Monster Hunter: Wilderness until the official releases a repair patch. Although high-end hardware can barely cope with the game's optimization shortcomings, it is still difficult to recommend a work that performs poorly at the technical level. Capcom must solve these fundamental technical problems as soon as possible.
